the den

How self-willed it is, but I still went to the porn star cab party yesterday night at the den.. I had already bought a ticket for 12 bucks, and the other people convinced me to go. But.. I didn’t drink, and I went home early ;) so at least I’m taking a little care of myself. Because I didn’t want to go home late I went to the den pretty early. When we came in there were not many people yet, but we had some fun. After an hour or something there came a lot of people and it was getting better. The costumes people were wearing were so funny sometimes. For example one guy was dressed like a mermaid, so he had like a green towel around his legs and a bra of shells! It was a fun night, but at 12 o’clock I thought it was a better idea to go home and go to bed, and I think that was a good decision. Today I saw all the pictures which were taking, so we have a good memory about it. You were not allowed to bring a camera, but some people still did it and made some good and funny pictures.

Today was such a funny day so far. I told you in my last blog that there is a special party tonight in the den. The theme of the party is ‘porn star’. So today we went to a couple of porn shops to see if they had an outfit for us. One of my friends bought a kind of police outfit, so that looks hilarious! We were with eight people, but the other w1ere in the subway to eat something. So after he bought his outfit he changed in the car and walked inside with his outfit on :p there were also other people in the subway and they were laughing so hard about it! So far I saw a couple of outfits, but tonight when everybody starts drinking I will see the others, so that is going to be funny! It’s too bad I am still not really better, so there is no party for me tonight. But I will still laugh about everybody ;) I am going to hang around with some people tonight who are drinking and when they are leaving to the den I will go to bed..

Dutch girl left

Many of you will know that I came with three other Dutch people. Everybody knows Karlijn, who is in lecture 2 of EAP II. The other two are Maaike and Felicio, who are in EAP III and both in a different lecture. Karlijn and Felicio are living in Kananaskis Hall, that is also the place where Adrian, who is in EAP II lecture 2, lives. Maaike and me are living in Rundle Hall, which is opposite Kananaskis Hall on campus. Maaike didn’t liked it anymore and prefered going back to her friends and family. Thursday I was not in class for writing and grammar because we brought Maaike to the airport. A friend of her roommate drove us to the airport and back. It was Karlijn, Dahlia, Dahlia’s friend and me who brought her to the airport. Dahlia is her old roommate, who was pretty sad that Maaike left because now she is alone in the room again.

I was not in class on Friday too. That was because I was sick. It started Thursday already, so I didn’t go to the den but it didn’t help me to not get sick. Today was pretty boring. I slept a lot because I couldn’t do anything. Tomorrow I should go to the den because there is a special party, but I don’t think I will be able to go :(

soccer with Mehrdad

Two weeks ago Mehrdad, who is one of my classmates, asked me if I wanted to play soccer with him in the red gym. He plays nearly every week. I had nothing else to do, so I went to the gym that afternoon. When I was at the gym only Mehrdad and one of his friends were playing, but even his friend left after a while. So it was only me and Mehrdad. I rather play soccer with more people, but we still had fun! We played for over an hour. Last week Mehrdad asked me if wanted to play soccer again, but know there were more people coming. So I went to the gym and there were around ten people, so that was perfect. It was Mehrdad, his father, his brother, some other friends and myself. Adrian, who is in EAP II lecture 2 was also playing. We made two teams of five and started playing. We played for nearly one and a half hour, so after that I was exhausted ;) But it was a fun time, so I think next week we will play again if we can make a reservation for a gym to play in.

After this semester

What am I going to do when I have finished EAP II? As I think the most of you will know that Karlijn and me are exchange students, so we wont stay in Canada. At April 26 my parents and one of my sisters will come to Canada. We will rent a camper to travel around in Canada to Vancouver. We will totally travel for three weeks, so we also stop in other place and we are going to drive through the Rocky Mountains. On May 18 we will fly back from Vancouver via Frankfurt to Amsterdam. When I am back in the Netherlands I will first go with friends to Greece for vacation. Last year I went to Spain with 7 friends and now I am going with 4 friends. Then in September my study will at the University of Amsterdam. My study will be something with sports and management. You can compare it the best with kinesiology here. Also in August there are some friends of residence come to visit me. They are going to make a trip through Europe, so they also make a stop in Amsterdam. When they are in Amsterdam I will spend some time with them of course.

rez-games

As you all know I live in residence. Last weekend we had de rez-gamez. That means that all floors in Rundle Hall, which is the Hall I live in, Kananaskis Hall and Cascade compete against each other in a couple of different games. First my floor played dodge ball and we won! After that we played Ultimate Frisbee, but we lost because my team was with six players and the other with 20 players. After that we had a break and four other games The first was soccer shootout, which we won from our rival floor 7 Rundle. Then we had scene it, which is a movie quiz. We were playing with four teams and out team became second. Then we had to play guitar hero on the Nintendo wii. We had to play four difficulties and we did pretty well. The last game was kickball, what is a combination of soccer and baseball. There were also prices you can win. First price is a pizza party and the second price is the game pictionary. I think we have a good change to win. We will hear it this week, but also if we don’t win a price was it a fun day!

Trip to Edmonton

Today I’m going to talk about my trip to Edmonton a couple of weekends ago. As the most of you will know, I live in residence and the trip was organised for all students in residence. So the bus left at 8 a.m. and that is pretty early for me! Especially in the weekend ;) It took us around four and a half hour to get there, included a break. When we were there they gave you a choice pass, so you could choose what you wanted to do. You could pick between a galaxy park, with rollercoasters and stuff like that or the waterpark inside the big Edmonton Mall. So I choose the waterpark and it was a lot of fun! You had a lot of different slides, you could bungee-jump and there was a big normal pool. First we took some slides and after that we went to the hot tubs. I wanted to go bungee-jumping so I convinced one friend of me to come with me. We went to the kiosk but we could only make a reservation for 6 p.m. and that was exactly the time the bus left to go back. So no bungee-jumping that day :( But it was a good day with a good party in residence when we came back!

about myself..

Hi everybody!
I think the most of you will know a little bit about me but for the ones who don't i'll tell something about myself.
I'm Roy and i'm from the Netherlands (Holland).
For the ones who don't know where it is ask me ;)
I'm studying at the University of Amsterdam, and via that university I got the change to go to Calgary (CAN), Montana (U.S.) or Pueblo (MEX). Why did i choose Calgary..? I don't know:p but so far it's a good choice!
My hobby's are playing soccer and playing computer games.
In the Netherlands I play soccer in a team (kolping boys). Computer games are for fun and it's not a addioction, well not YET ;)
Ofcourse I like to go out with friends and doing other thing with friends!
I also support a Dutch soccer team called AZ (Alkmaar Zaanstreek).
Last year they nearly won the Dutchcup and two years age nearly the UEFA-Cup! I know it's al nearly but it is at least something ;)
